Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Solon, OH
Reports to: Director of Operations
Principal Area of Responsibility: Energy Focus is looking for a Quality Engineer with a minimum of 5 years quality experience in a manufacturing environment to provide support for the manufacturing and assembly plant in Solon, Ohio. The role will actively participate in creation of quality programs for all North American operations
Specific Duties: Lead and direct all incoming and in-process inspection. Ensure vendor quality through data collection and audits. Perform and support process improvement projects including quality training. Maintain quality dashboards and investigate, analyze, and resolve component and product issues using six sigma methodologies. Work with engineering to “design quality in” and integrate new products into the quality system. Manage the day to day activities of the Warranty and Return Department.
Personal Characteristics: This candidate should have good communication skills (verbal and written); able to work with technical concepts and people including engineers and other professionals, vendors, customers and contractors; analytical and able to solve problems; able to work with technical specifications; personal computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Access) MRP systems and statistical software. Strong knowledge of SPC, control plans, and PPAP.
Education: Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering or other related technical field
Six sigma training, green belt, ISO 9000 experience, lean enterprise training, ASQ certification preferred.
Physical and Mental Demands: Incumbent must physically and mentally perform the job demands as listed above. The ability to handle high stress associated with high activity with tight deadlines. The ability to travel 10-20%.
