Enlightening Teachers & Students at GSCE 2016!
The Green Schools Conference & Expo 2016 in Pittsburgh, PA. was truly an event to remember for Energy Focus as teachers, students, and facility managers came together for a common purpose: to advance the shared vision of green schools for all within this generation.
The conference started off with remarks from the city of Pittsburgh, students, executive and members of the USGBC, as well as Eric Hilliard, President and COO of Energy Focus. In Eric’s presentation, he discussed the solid impact of classroom lighting on student’s health and learning experience proven through our ‘Change a Light. Change a Life’ initiative with the Center for Green Schools.
During the opening plenary, the “Best of Green Schools Class of 2016” was announced. The awards recognize 11 individuals, institutions, projects and events representing the best environmental efforts in schools across the country and highlight the national leaders and innovators in school sustainability for the year, according to the organization.
When the doors to the expo opened up, the Energy Focus team was at the front and center to greet all attendees with open arms. Students, teachers, and school officials were intrigued by our TLEDs as they received education on the health benefits to having LED lighting in their schools.
On display was our tubular LEDs (TLEDs), as well as our ‘Change a Light Change a Life’ Storybook, which will be available in digital copies soon. The storybook includes the details of the program and its impact (including testimonials) on more than 30 schools in the metro New York and Tri-state area since launch.
Lastly, many thanks to our partners at the USGBC for making the 2016 Green Schools Conference & Expo such an exciting event for all. We are honored to take the lead in educating and serving our global community.
