Geis Companies is Ohio's largest industrial Design & Build firm with Industrial and Commercial developments throughout the country. Comprised of 3 distinct divisions “Industrial & Commercial” which forms the heart of the organization, “Retail Construction” and “Automotive Construction” Geis Companies designs and constructs 1,500,000 - 2,000,000 sq. ft. annually.
In its quest to always provide its customers with the most innovative and state-of the art products and services, Geis set out to find a better outdoor lighting solution. It found its match in Energy Focus Inc. LED LandScape lights that deliver clean bright light at a fraction of the energy consumption of traditionally used luminaires. The rugged design housing and longevity of the lamp reduce maintenance significantly, which has a positive impact on Geis bottom line. Geis chose its own headquarter in Streetsboro, OH as the first test site to install the fixtures. On 12,000 square feet building area the teams were able to decrease energy consumption from over 4000 Watt to only 500 Watt, which in turn reduced the annual electricity load by 16, 276kwh. Since the fixtures were designed as a quick retrofit solution the project was installed in under one week and Geis was able to see lighting improvements immediately. With a 2.2 year simple payback the product is sure to find its way into many more of Geis existing and new construction projects.
